Empowering Potential Since 1992

Our Story:

For over three decades, the 10-20 Club has been a cornerstone of support for youth and families in Los Angeles County. We believe that every young person possesses untapped potential, even when faced with the most difficult circumstances.

Where It All Began

Founded in 1992 by former MLB player Darrell Jackson, the 10-20 Club was born from a simple yet powerful realization: teens, young adults, and parents often have nowhere to turn during their times of greatest need. Recognizing the critical gap in services for at-risk youth between the ages of 10 and 20, Darrell envisioned an organization that would provide more than just a safe space—it would provide a path to a better life.

Our Evolution

Under the leadership of Executive Director Ronnie Fernandez and our dedicated Board of Directors, our mission has evolved to meet the modern challenges facing today’s youth. We focus on proactive, community-based support designed to foster growth and resilience through three primary pillars:

  • Mentoring: We provide one-on-one and group guidance to help youth navigate social challenges and build lasting, positive relationships with role models.

  • Skill Building: We equip young people with the practical life skills and tools they need to make informed, positive choices for their futures.

  • Mental Wellness: Our programs prioritize emotional well-being, helping youth develop the coping mechanisms and self-awareness necessary to thrive.

Our mission

To empower youth ages 10 to 20 by providing the mentoring, life skills, and mental wellness tools necessary to navigate challenges and unlock their full potential.

Our vision

A community where every young person has the resilience, skills, and support to lead a life of purpose and emotional well-being
